A narrow sound buffer zone with supporting functions separates the liturgical from the profane. The diagonals of the remaining bays mark the start of a void in the added rood screen. The abstracted roof withdraws from the spire and allows light to mystically penetrate the heart of the space. The rood screen is a flexible extension for crowded church services, but also for classical concerts or exhibitions. In the profane part, the diagonals form the basis for accommodating the reception area, the wedding hall, council chamber and offices. Pulling back the old church walls generates daylight and outdoor spaces, and makes it possible to build in an energy-efficient manner while preserving the visually prominent character of the walls and church windows. A canopy inspired by networked vaults establishes a connection with the old townhall and forms the entrance to the wedding hall as well as an outdoor area adjacent to that hall.
Een smalle geluidsbufferzone met ondersteunende functies scheidt liturgisch van profaan. De diagonalen van de overgebleven traveeën zijn de aanzet voor een vide in het toegevoegde oksaal. Het geabstraheerde dak trekt zich terug van de vieringtoren en laat het licht mystiek tot in het hart van de ruimte vallen. Het oksaal is een flexibele uitbreiding bij dichtbevolkte kerkdiensten, maar ook bij klassieke concerten of tentoonstellingen. In het profaan gedeelte vormende diagonalen de basis voor het herbergen van het onthaal, de trouw -en raadzaal en de kantoren. Het terugtrekken van de oude kerkmuren brengt daglichten buitenruimten en laat toe energiezuinig te bouwen en het beeld bepalend karakter van de muren en de kerkramen te behouden. Een op netwerkgewelven geïnspireerde luifel verbindt met het oude gemeentehuis en vormt de toegang en een buitenruimte aan de trouwzaal.

Le retrait des anciens murs d’église génère de la lumière du jour et des espaces extérieurs et permet de construire de manière économe en énergie tout en préservant le caractère proéminent des murs et des fenêtres de l’église. Un auvent inspiré sur des voûtes en réseau établit une connexion avec l’ancienne maison communale et forme l’accès de la salle de mariage ainsi qu’un espace extérieur adjacent à cette salle.
